You can have your training meticulously planned and executed, your nutrition dialled in and diet on point, but you will still fall way short of reaching your potential if you don’t optimise your rest and recovery. 99% of the time over training is a consequence of under recovering. The inability to shake DOMS from one workout to the next, achy joints, angry tendons, shitty mood, loss of mojo, you know the score? Possible signs, if everything else is on point, that you are not recovering like you could be.
Even if you don’t train hard, life is HARD. Work, family, diet, tech, daily stresses all take their toll on our ability to rest and recover, often culminating in a vicious cycle of poor or disrupted sleep and the laundry list of negatives that comes with it.
